Who should attend?

This conference is for coaches, instructors and leaders from any sport whether part time, full time, volunteer or professional including the likes of P.E. teachers, outdoor/leisure centre staff. No matter what your sport this conference has something to offer to help bring about greater well-being of participants and coaches alike. 

Delegate fees

The delegate fee for the full conference is £250

The delegate fee for one day (either Saturday or Sunday) is £120

The delegate fee for the Friday evening is £60 

What's included

The delegate fee includes attendance at all sessions scheduled for the evening/days purchased with options for parallel/breakout sessions on the Saturday. Participants will also be provided with a certificate of attendance for the hours attended for the purposes of Continued Professional Development (CPD).

Conference programme


The conference will begin on the Friday evening, the 8th October, at 17:00 with delegate registration. This will be followed by the opening/welcome, by Shona Tate and then the evenings keynote presentations.  Saturday, the 9th October, will be a full day with parallel workshop sessions available, while Sunday, the 11th October, will provide another full day of interactive lecture presentations. In addition, there will be exhibitors and networking opportunities during coffee and lunch breaks.

Chill Factore, Manchester is one of the UK's premier indoor snow domes and has excellent facilities on site and in the surrounding area. In addition, to the on snow facilities, the centre has a number of shops and restaurants and conference facilities. The Sports Coaching Conference will be located in their dedicated conference rooms; Eiger Suite (Friday evening), Anton Suite (Saturday & Sunday) and Verbier Suite for parallel/breakout sessions on Saturday. 


Chill Factore is located beside one of Europe's biggest shopping centres - The Trafford Centre with many restaurants and shops available.

Continued Professional Development (CPD)


This conference is recognised as external CPD for the following National Governing Bodies (NGBs) of sport and National Training Organisations; 








All participants will be issued with a certificate of attendance on completion of the conference which can be used when applying for external CPD. Even if your NGB is not listed above they may well accept this conference as applicable for CPD.


More NGBs will be added to the above list in the build up to the conference.

Speakers Photos & Bio

Deb Archibald

Deb is a well-being consultant and health and performance coach. She has a passion for improving the health and physical, emotional and mental wellbeing of individuals, groups and organisations. She has extensive experience working with large complex organisations. She has a Masters in Personalised Nutrition and is a keen skier and mountain biker. 


Kelly Bishop

Kelly is a Director at Amazing Minds CIC. She has a sense of duty to create and develop interventions for young people using the skills, knowledge, qualifications and experiences she has built from life, work, studies, teacher training, NLP, coaching and Applied Positive Psychology. 


Jane Campbell-Morrison MBE

Jane has an extensive background in sport coaching and sports management having been an instructor and chief instructor in sailing and ski schools, a Development Manager for sailing in Scotland, the Chief Executive Officer for Snowsport Scotland and Senior Inspector (Scotland) for the Adventure Activity Licensing Service.


Nancy Chambers

Nancy has spent her life in the outdoors and is passionate about a number of sports including paddle sports, skiing and hiking. Amongst her many leadership roles she has worked as a full time instructor at Glenmore Lodge National Outdoor Training Centre. She is also a children's author and photographer.


Tania Cotton

Tania is a movement analyst, performance coach and film producer. She is the founder of and makes films on health and human performance to show people what is possible and to inspire them to take action, so that they too can become more physically robust, mentally resilient and resistant to pain, injury and disease.


Andrew Denton

Andrew is an entrepreneur specialising in the outdoor and sports market. He is currently CEO of the Outdoor Industries Association (OIA), investor, speaker and consultant. 


Derek Tate

Derek has been teaching skiing for more than 30 years and is passionate about how people learn. He has worked as a trainer and examiner of ski instructors for BASI and continues to carry out this role for IASI and Snowsport Scotland. He has a Masters in Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) where he specialised in Flow and Mindfulness. 


Shona Tate

Shona has played a leading role in the development, training and qualifying of Snowsports Instructors. She is a Director of BASS Chamonix & Megeve a ski school in the Chamonix Mont Blanc region and co-founder of Parallel Dreams Coaching. She is currently a trustee on the board of Disability Snowsport UK.

Matthew Holman

Matthew is passionate about helping companies, groups and individuals with mental health and well-being. He is a TEDx speaker "We are ALL #24HourHumans" 


Tracy Richardson

Tracy is a Director at Amazing Minds CIC and co-creator of Amazing Me. She has a Masters in Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) from Bucks New University.


Federico Sollini

Fede is head coach and owner of Sub Zero Coaching based in Zermatt, Switzerland and is an educator and examiner for the Irish Association of Snowsports Instructors.
